Information: Indoor Provision

Below are some photographs and descriptions of some of the areas to give you a little more insight into what we provide at Heaton.

The Den

This is our cosy den where our children hide away and have an adventure with their imagination. We provide lots of books, small world animals and pictures for help them to develop their imagination further.

Home Corner

Our home corner is an area where the children can imitate what they see on a day to day basis. The children are provided with resources and equipment to cook., clean and wash up. We also have babies’ clothes; babies and dressing up clothes so the children can develop their imagination further to dress up as different characters. We also have lots of multicultural resources to help children understand other cultures.

Book Corner

This is a cosy area where a group of children can snuggle in and enjoy a variety of books, we also provide story sacks where the children can re-enact the stories. Lots of fun is had in this area.

Creative/Mark Making Area

Our children have access to a range of mark making materials and creative materials, this gives the children the opportunity to explore and investigate their creativity inside and create wonderful creations.

Music Area

This is a small cosy area where we provide a large variety of instruments for the children to explore and investigate making lots of loud different noises. We also have a CD player where the children can listen to different types of music and dance to the beat.

Computer Area

The children have access to a computer with a range of games including simple city, numeracy and literacy games. This helps the children to gain different skills ie, moving a mouse, open and closing different programmes.
